John got his start in web development and online marketing after a two decade career working in commercial and retail bakeries. In his late-thirties, he studied web design and development in between shifts at the bread factory, learning how to build websites.
In 2012, he founded a web development shop, serving clients around the country. In 2021, the business was rechristened Lockedown SEO. Today, John continues to serve clients everywhere, while publishing SEO tips weekly on the Lockedown SEO YouTube channel. He has also appeared on several SEO and web development podcasts and is a two-time WordCamp Sacramento speaker (2015, 2017).
